Bio

William "Buck" Snider, age 83, of West, passed away early Wednesday evening, July 4, 2012 at his residence. As per his request, no services will be held. Buck was born May 5, 1929 in Leroy, the son of Joe Fred and Gertrude (Heine) Snider. He was a 1947 graduate of Waco High School. Buck served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. In November of 1981 he was united in marriage to Doris Laverne Davis in West. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2005. Buck was a plumber, working in many parts of the country including Mississippi, Florida, California, Virginia, Louisiana and Texas for 25 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Buck is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Joseph Snider Jr.; a daughter, Melinda Snider; a sister, Doris Marie Kienits; and a brother, Lionel Snider. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
