He married Edith Good on Jan 31 1900 in Decatur, Illiois Herald & Review 5/12/1917 Funeral services for Brice Jacob Bear will be conducted Sunday morning in the Boiling Springs church under the auspices of Warrensburg lodge No 959,AF&AM. Burial will be in the Boiling springs cemetery. He was a member of Macon Chapter,No 21,Royal Arch Masons of Decatur. He was elected director of the Boiling Springs cemetery association in 1902 and served as clerk and treasurer until his death. His death Thursday came suddenly as his condition was not regarded as serious until a few hours before he succumbed. While busy at his spring farm work April 16,he suddenly became ill in the field and was assisted in getting to he house. There he was under the care of a trained nurse and a week before his death he was taken to St. Marys hospital. He lived all his life on the old Bear homestead in the Bearsdale community. His father Samuel Bear bought the land for $14 an acre. He died when Brice was a small boy . Obituary furnished by Janet Donner
