William is the son of Samuel and Rebecca (Myers) Bear. William L. Bear, for many years a resident of Macon county, died at his home, 1837 North Gulick Ave, Wednesday night. He was seventy-one years old last December. His death was caused by pneumonia. He had been in ill health for some time, but had seemed on the way to recovery when he suffered a relapse and last Thursday pneumonia developed. Mr. Bear was born in Newville, Pa. on December 2, 1851. He and Miss Flora Bradon were married December 30, 1870.{1874 per the Illinois SOS Marriage Index} He was a member of the Church of God and also of the Modern Woodmen. Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Otto Bear, Mrs Irene McDaniel and Mrs. Myrtle Dillinger of Decatur and Len Bear of Farmer City. He also leaves a brother, S. E. Bear, and a sister, Mrs. E. Rysinger of Bearsdale, and a grandson, Virgil Bear. Decatur, IL Review March 29, 1923 p3
