Arnold "Doc" Hassell, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 1996. Born October 22, 1912 in Rusk, Texas Cherokee County to John Ed and Molly Hassell. Arnold was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Olive. Survivors: three children, Marcus C. Hassell of Crosby, Reba Zell Castellow of Porter and Arnold Denton Hassell of Arlington. Four grandchilddren, Kristine Hassell of Crosby, Adam, Jonah and Erick Castellow of Porter. Several brothers and sisters, Jim and Bennie Hassell of Pearland, Oneeda Psukarovich of Ridgecrest, CA, John Dale and Daphne King of Lake Jackson, Bill and Sally Huddleston of Palestine, Dan and Bertie Hassell of Palestine and Pat Starkes of El Paso. Arnold was a member of the Boilermakers union local #74 prior to 1953. Afterwords he started a demolishing business that turned into today's Hassell Lumber in the Kingwood area. He was resident of the Kingwood, Porter area for the past 30 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Star of Hope Mission or the Salvation Army. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Northeast Hospice Center, to the nurses of Northeast Medical Center and Pastor Mitchel Bell of the River Oaks Baptist Church. Porter, who were involved with the care of our father. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, June 15, 1996 Rosewood Chapel. Interment Rosewood Memorial Park.
