DEATH: Obituary as it appeared in the local paper Rena Hansen Mrs. Rena Hansen, 67, of 7473 San Carpino Dr., Goleta Valley, died Sunday in a local hospital after a long illness. She was born in Hull, Iowa, March 6, 1903 and attended school in Orange City, Iowa. She moved to California in 1956 from Sioux City, Iowa, and settled in Long Beach. In 1960 she moved to Needles and last year moved here with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Chalupa, with whom she made her home. Mrs. Hansen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Needles. In addition to her daughter, she leaves a son, LeRoy J. Roberts, of Garden Grove; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leo Derby, and a stepson, Marvin Hansen, both of South Sioux City, Neb.; a brother Peter Vanderkooi, of Sioux City, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Gertie Grifhorst, of Orange City, Iowa. Funderal services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Welch-Ryce Associates Goleta Chapel, 450 Ward Dr. The Rev. Loren Kramer will officiate. Interment will be in Goleta District Cemetery.
