OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Friday 7 September 1894: DIED – At the residence of W. S. Snow, in this city, Tuesday, September 4th, 1894, Brigham Moffitt, aged 35 years. Deceased was a son of Mrs. Andrew J. Moffitt of this city, having lived in Manti since early childhood, and was known to all our people as an honest and industrious man. About ten years ago he moved to Castle Valley where he has since resided. He has been ill for more than a year with Bright's disease of the kidneys, and has been a great though patient sufferer for several months past. During the last stages of his illness everything possible was done by the attending physician, and about a month ago, his family, realizing that death was close at hand, he was brought home to his family and relatives in Manti. He married the daughter of W. S. Snow, who with her six children, survive him. This sad death falls heavily upon the wife and little ones, the aged mother and family, who have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. The funeral took place from the Tabernacle yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the remains were laid at rest in the city cemetery, the ceremonies being attended by a large concourse of friends.
