Funeral services for John Joseph Janda, 68, were held Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence. The Rev. Peter Naughton officiated and burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Janda, a lifetime resident of Lawrence, died Sunday at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Surviving are his wife, Rose, three sons, Bernard and Marin of Hawthorne, Calif., and Donald of Swanton, a brother, George of Hastings, five sisters, Mrs. Mary Wooster of Omaha, Mrs. Ann Hlavac of Lawrence, Mrs. Julia Skalka of Hastings, Mrs. Rose Muzik of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Mrs. Lillian Mazour of Westmont, Ill., and 13 grandchildren.
