Married Joana Horn, 3 March 1901, Paris, Lamar Co., Texas. They had one daughter, Maggie Jo McCown. Married 2nd, Maud Lou Stuart, 26 August 1917, Paris, Lamar Co., Texas. They were the parents of five children: Dorothy Grace, Richard Owen, Jr., Doris Lee, Lou Faye, and Jack Raymond McCown. "R.O. McCown, 76, Dies At Home in Littlefield." 27 July 1949. R.O. McCown, 76, former grocer at Howland, died at home in Littlefield, Wednesday about 5 p.m. He had had a long illness. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. in Littlefield, where the family moved about 20 years ago. Mr. McCown leaves his wife, the former Miss Maude Stuart of Lamar County, three daughters, and two sons. He was an uncle of C.A. Ferguson and Mrs. W.L. Wilson, Paris, Rt. 5, and of D.A. Jones and V.O. Jones, Roxton, Rt. 1.
