Bio
Services for Dorothy Gentry, 83, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Bill Germenz officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Elkhart under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home. Mrs. Gentry died Saturday night (Oct. 4, 2008) at the Cartmell Home for Aged. She was born July 4, 1925 in Palestine to R.C. Griffith and Maggie Lou Laney Griffith. Mrs. Gentry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Gentry who died in 1989; brothers, Earl Griffith, and Albert Griffith; and sisters, Mildred Boyer, Hazel Hamby, Christine Dancer, and Faye Honeycutt. She is survived by a daughter, Kim Rinderknecht of Taylor; sons, Darrell Gentry of Austin and Michael Gentry of Austin; and grandchildren, Kristen Rinderknecht, Kenzie Rinderknecht and Eddie Gentry. Pallbearers will be Eddie Dancer, David Tidwell, Kenneth Honeycutt, Gilbert Griffith, Jeff Rinderknecht, and Ricky Rinderknecht. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home. Published in the Herald-Press on 10/6/2008
