Quinter -- Paul Herl, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Gove County Hospital. He was born May 5, 1897 at Munjor, the son of Jerome and Rosalla (Schumacher) Herl. He married Lidwina Wasinger on May 30, 1922 at Munjor. He was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Thomas P. Tidball American Legion Post, Collyer, and St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer. He was a World War I veteran. Survivors includehis wife, of the home; four sons, Edwin Herl, WaKeeney, Moris Herl, Quinter, Leonard Herl, Alamota, and Paul K. Herl, Loveland, Colo.; two daughters, Marcella Ladd, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Viola Schamberger, Hoxie; a brother, Frank Herl, Dodge City; a sister, Julia Herl, Hays; 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer, with Father Edmund Weigel officiating; burial in the church cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion. Friends may cll from 2-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Hendricks Funeral Home, Quinter.
