Bio

Versie (Eoff) Blakely was the daughter of Jonathan Eoff and Panola Beatrice Bishop, the former a native of Arkansas and the latter a native of Texas. She had brothers Benjamin Frankln "Frank" Eoff, Frederick Horace "Fred" Eoff, Luther Henry Eoff, Elza Lee Eoff and Jay Mack Eoff. Her sisters were Allie (Eoff) Myers, Cora Belle (Eoff) Fondy, Verma (Eoff) Abel, Lela (Eoff) Wright, Lucille Eoff and Elsie (Eoff) Rippetoe, raised in Scurry County, Texas. She married Herman Blakely April 11, 1915 in Snyder, Scurry County, Texas. They were the parents of sons Dale, Chalmer, Delbert, R L, Harold Wayne and Alton, and a daughter, Cathy. At the time of Versie's death only Dale, R L, Delbert and Chalmer survived. Herman Blakely, a farmer, was the son of William Blakely and Margaret Blair. Versie was a member of the Church of Christ.
