Last Rites for Geo. J. Uptmor Requiem mass for George J. Uptmor, Sr., 76, of Tours, was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Rev. Frank Miller served as celebrant. Burial was in St. Martin's Cemetery. Mr. Uptmor died Sunday afternoon in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mr. Uptmor was born in McLennan County and had lived in the Tours area all of his life. He was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of VFW Post 4819. He married Christine Lucien on March 28, 1922, at Tours. Survivors include his wife; one son, George J. Uptmor, Jr., of Mesquite; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Vrba of San Antonio, Mrs. Melvin Jackson of Waco, and Mrs. Eugene Vrba, also of Waco; two brothers, Henry Uptmor of Tours and Will Uptmor of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Willenborg of Tours and Mrs. Agnes Heine of Waco; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayman Willenborg, Virgil Heine, Weldon Uptmor, Freddie Uptmor, Fred Uptmor, Aubrey Uptmor, Charles Willenborg, Lawrence Willenborg.
