Bio

Ellanora Anna Cook was born on Jan. 22, 1908 in Lavaca Co., Texas to Christian Charles Cook and Annie Boehm Cook. Siblings included: Edwin Ervin Cook; b. 9-20-1904, d. 11-11-1982 Martha Irene Cook (Barta); b. 8-20-1906, d. 9-24-1997 Bertha Cook; b. 10-9-1909, d. 10-9-1909 Anita Emma "Annie" Cook (Weikel); b. 10-4-1910, d. 10-18-1983 Charles Christian "Boy" Cook; b. 8-15-1912, d. 1-4-1988 Ida Agatha Cook (Maeker); b. 2-8-1915, d. 4-2-1987 Mary Cook (Blume); b. 3-26, 1917 Lillian Cook (Bailey); b. 7-9-1919 Alice Anna Cook (Kotzebue); b. 7-31-1921 Oscar Lee Cook; b. 3-6-1924 She attended schools in Moulton and Shiner as well as a rurual school called the Green School. On Jan. 22, 1929 she married Charles Joe Holub at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton, Texas. To this union was born four children: Eugene Charles Holub; b. 8-9-1929 Charles Bohumil Holub; b. 1-16-1932 Delores Ann Holub (Caka); b. 8-19-1937 Alice Joyce Holub (Davis); b. 9-22-1942 Ella and Charles lived their whole married lives in Lavaca Co. renting farms for several years and then buying a farm near Moravia. After Charles' death in 1971, Ella moved into the town of Shiner. There she, along with 3 of her sisters, enjoyed their time together quilting, sewing and playing dominoes. Ella passed away in her home on April 6, 1997 at the age of 89. She had 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
