Bio

Luther Monroe Robinson was the fourth child and second son of John Ervin Robinson and Mary Jane Cooper Robinson. Luther Monroe Robinson was named after two of his uncles, his mother's brother, Luther Cooper, and his father's brother, James Monroe Robinson. It was said that Monroe's mother, Mary Jane Cooper Robinson, hated nicknames. She named her oldest daughter, Susan Elizabeth, and everyone called her "Lizzie". She named her oldest son, William Richard, and everyone called him "Dick". So when Monroe was born, Mary Jane thought with a name like Luther Monroe, he would not have a nickname, but everyone started calling him "Mon". Monroe Robinson married Alva Edith Stubbs on Sept. 23, 1908. They were married by Liberty County Justice of the Peace Charles Wilson. They were married 50 years. ************************************************************************ OBITUARY FROM THE LIBERTY VINDICATOR: FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD IN DAYTON FOR L.
