Bio

Obediah was the second child born to Samuel and Permelia Lowery, and one of their five sons who fought in the Civil War. He enlisted on 1 Aug 1862 with the 36th Regiment, Texas Calvary (Woods') Company A. He was killed in battle in Louisiana and per his father, rests in a Soldiers Grave along Black River, Louisiana. In addition to his parents and siblings, Obediah was survived by his wife Irene Jane Smith and two young sons, Joseph Samuel Lowery (1859-1927) and Austin Albert Lowery (1861-1939).
