Published in The Guntersville Democrat, March 26, 1891 ALLEN LOWERY DEAD Just as we go to press news reaches us of the death of Allen Lowery, a good citizen of McLarty who died of heart dropsy Tuesday. He was a young man, only 27 years old, and leaves a wife to mourn his death. Allen had been a consistent member of the Baptist church since he was fourteen years old. He had been sick only about ten days and died at the home of his venerable father, Samuel Lowery. Burial was to take place Wednesday at two o'clock with Alliance honors.
