Bio

Susan Celia Bullard Carroll was born in Georgia, the daughter of Allen Eusbon Bullard (1810-1860) and Louisa Matilda Redwine (1817-1897). She married Stephen Glynn Carroll in Chatham, Jackson, LA. in 1860 and they had 12 children. By 1880 the Carrolls had moved to Upshur Co., Texas where they lived the remainder of their lives. Their children were Mattie Carroll, Sallie A Carroll (1861–1887), Delula Alice Carroll (1865–1931 who married William Henry Mathis), R. Louisa Carroll (1865– ), Lou Carroll (1865– ), Robert Carroll (1866– ), John Wesley Carroll (1869–1950), Martha V. Carroll (1871–1952), Jacob R. Carroll (1873–1946), Stephen Hope Carroll (1876–1954), Charlotte H. Carroll (1881–1966), and Minnie May Carroll (1882–1937 who married a locally famous minister and author, Uncle Walt Cumbie).
