Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Kluthe age 90 of Dodge, NE will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean, rural Dodge, NE. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Wenceslaus Parish Hall in Dodge, NE. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is assisting the family with arrangements. Mary Ann (Niewohner) Kluthe passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hillside Villa in West Point, NE. Mary Ann was born the third oldest of 12 children of Bill and Bertha (Hunke) Niewohner on their family farm near Snyder, NE on February 7, 1933. Mary Ann attended St. Leo's Catholic School in Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School in 1950. After graduation she was employed at St. Francis Hospital in West Point. She married Daniel J. Kluthe on April 12, 1955, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Snyder, NE. Daniel and Mary Ann made their home on the Kluthe homestead northwest of Dodge, where they farmed. After the children were grown, Mary Ann worked in the Dietary Department at Parkview Home in Dodge for 19 years. After she retired, she enjoyed volunteering. Mary Ann belonged to Sacred Heart Church in Olean. She was a member of Saint Ann's Sodality, The American Legion Auxillary of Dodge, The Dodge Getaway Club, and Dudes and Dolls Square Dance Club in Wisner, NE. Mary Ann enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, spending time with friends, attending grandkids events and visiting the surrounding casinos. Mary Ann loved spending time with Jesus, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include- Son-Danny (Josie) Kluthe of Dodge, NE and family- Jamie (Jeff) Eikmeier and their children-Taylor, Ally, and Landon Jodie (Zeb) Kreifels and their children-Addison and Halli Danielle (Brett) Ortmeier and their children-Emmett, Emma, Andi, and August Dana (Broc) Brune and their children-Weston, Mason, Madison, and Owen Son-Don (Roxanne) Kluthe of Omaha, NE and their family- James (Brit) Kluthe and their children-Chase, Pierce, Madeline, and Aubrey Michaela Kluthe Lauren (Dylan) Duren and their daughter-Lilly Step-grandchildren- Jake Gasnick Sam Gasnick Teresa (Chris) Tow Allie (late Ross) Bruening and their children-Hank and Gus Daughter-Mary Jo (Dale) Brichacek of Rogers, NE and family- Gerad (Connie) Brichacek and their children-Dylan, Kylie, Dalton, Karter, and Dexter Jenifer (Chad) Nelson and their son-Hunter Nicole (Danny) Rezac Jordan (Marti) Brichacek and their son-Walker Emily (Nathan) Bazata and their children-Reese, Adella, and Kain Daughter-Geri Ann (Scott) Deines of Fremont, NE and their children- Blake Deines Conner Deines Her siblings- Rosemarie McNamara of Beemer, NE, Marcie (Mel) Ortmeier of Dodge, NE, Bernie (Betty Kay) Niewohner of Dodge, NE, Jan (Lorin) Batenhorst of Wisner, NE, Danny (Jeanette) Niewohner of Scribner, NE, Rita (Vern) Ortmeier of Waterloo, NE, and sister-in-law-Karen Niewohner of Snyder, NE Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband-Daniel, her parents-William and Bertha Niewohner, sister-Betty Cech, brothers-Joseph (Marjorie) Niewohner, Irwin (Geraldine) Niewohner, Leo (Yvonne) Niewohner, and Virgil Niewohner, brother-in-law-James McNamara, her in laws-Conrad and Mary Kluthe, brothers and sisters in-law-Wilma (Al) Ebbers, Irwin (Valerie) Kluthe, Lorraine (Glenn) Reeson, Vernon (Imelda) Kluthe, Darlene (Richard) Uher, and Betty (Jim) Dau.
