Joe Henry Bezdek, 76, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at a local hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Joe was born in Abbott on July 23, 1931, to Mary and Joseph Bezdek. After completing school in Abbott, he moved to Meadow, where he met his future wife, Doris Joplin. It was love at first sight, and they were married June 27, 1952. They started their family in Lubbock and later moved to Arlington. Joe retired from General Motors after devoting 25 years of employment. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and playing the accordion. He will be sorely missed by his family. Comfort is found knowing he is no longer suffering and he's in his Father's loving care. Survivors: His devoted wife of 56 years, Doris Bezdek; daughters, Sharon and son-in-law, Wayne, of Mansfield and Diane and son-in-law, Donny, of Waxahachie; son, Larry Bezdek and daughter-in-law, Jill, of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
