Bio

Alfonce William Mazoch, 89, of El Campo, passed away December 15, 2023. He was born on October 30, 1934 at home in El Campo to the late John and Mary Kocurek Mazoch. Alfonce served in the Army special forces during the Korean War. He was a member of the Louise Knights of Columbus Council #9394, American Legion Post 251 and K.J.T. Society. He worked as a mechanic and then operator for Williams natural gas. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jeanette Schneider Mazoch of El Campo; daughters, Susie Korenek and husband Dennis of Nada and Pam Gravette and husband Keith of Nashville; sons, Roch Mazoch of El Campo, Paul Mazoch of Philadelphia, Perry Mazoch and wife Paula of El Campo and Scott Mazoch and wife Alison of East Bernard; daughter-in-law, Galynn Mazoch of Blessing; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sisters, Beatrice Yockey and Edith Rachunek. Alfonce was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Alfonce "Peanut" Mazoch Jr. and Gary Mazoch and siblings, I.G. Mazoch, Martha Marek and Joe Mazoch. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, December 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada with a KC Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. with Rev. Eddie Schoellmann officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Korenek and grandsons Klint Korenek, Trent Korenek, Cameron Mazoch, Clay Mazoch and Kolton Mazoch. Memorial donations in memory of Alfonce may be made to the American Legion Post 251 (P.O. Box 1001, El Campo, TX 77437), St. Mary's Catholic Church (P.O.
