Bio

Joe Mazoch, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008. He was born in New Taiton on March 8, 1924, to John and Mary Kocurek Mazoch. He had been an operator for Trans Continental Commercial Gas Pipeline for 30 years. Joe also worked as a commercial shrimper out of Palacios, and an auto mechanic. Joe enjoyed ranching, dancing, and visiting with people. He was a member of KJT. Joe and Mabel Bade were married in Beeville on July 7, 1990. He is survived by his loving wife, Mabel Bade Mazoch of Yorktown; daughters, Joyce Schurchert and husband Alvin of Kingwood, Carlette Hileman of Port Lavaca, and Belinda Bowers of Austin; son, Mark Mazoch and wife Barbara of Ganado; grandchildren, John and Linsey Schurchert, Ashley Schurchert, Carla, Randal, and Casey Hileman, and Dillon Bowers; sisters, Beatrice Yockey of El Campo, Edith Rachunek of Wharton; and a brother Alfonse Mazoch of El Campo. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Martha Marek Mazoch; also a sister, Martha Marek; and brother, I.J. Mazoch. Funeral service will be Friday, April 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers Randal Hileman, John Schurchert, Gary Bowers, Dillon Bowers, Bennie Marek and Mickey Beard. Honorary pallbearers Thomas Johnson, Chris and Edita Rybak, Dr. Andrew Clements, Dr. Gulshan Minocha, and Dr. Gordon Barth. Memorials Trinity Church in Cuero, Yorktown EMS or donor's choice.
