Theresa M. Koziol, 97 of Cedar Rapids, NE, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, NE with Fr. Bill L'Heureux officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held at the parish hall. It was Theresa's wish to donate her body for medical study. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements. Theresa Mary Koziol, and her twin brother Leonard were born at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus, NE on January 20, 1926 to Frank and Barbara (Terasinski) Tworek of rural Polk County. Theresa graduated from high school in Columbus, NE. On October 3, 1950, Theresa was united in marriage to Karl Koziol at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. The couple made their home north of Cedar Rapids, NE where they farmed. Theresa's faith was very important to her, and she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. During her life she enjoyed learning about family history. Theresa enjoyed Polish music, wildlife, birds, and nature. She also enjoyed collecting angels, reading, and playing scrabble. Theresa is survived by her three sons: Ken (Corey) Koziol of Lincoln, NE; Andrew Koziol of Fullerton, NE; John (Rhonda) Koziol of Albion, NE; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Vincent (Jenna) Koziol and their children Hank and Allie; Clay Koziol; Lana (Gage) Bender and their children: Kyah and Luka; Calvin (Kaitlyn) Koziol; Mark (Wendy) Koziol and their children: Payton and Nolan; Natalie (Austin) Menzel and their children: Cooper, Clara, and Milo; Eli Koziol; and Trae Koziol. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother: Edmund Tworek; husband: Karl; infant twin daughters: Carolyn and Cathryn Koziol; son: Lenny Koziol; brothers and their spouses: Stanley (Mary) Tworek; Ted (Rose) Tworek; Ben (Josephine) Tworek; Leonard Tworek; sisters and their spouses: Frances (Louis) Zoucha; Florence (Anso) Tognetti; Bernadette (Jack) Deveney; Anne (Eugene) Driscoll; and Gertrude (Edward) Ciurej.
