Funeral services for Lawrence Harris, 67, of the Stodthard Community near Athens will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Carroll-Lehr VC Memory Chapel with the Rev. James Hinman officating Burial will be in the Payne Cemetery. Mr. Harris died Monday in a Athens hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of the Stockhard Community and had lived in Memphis, Tenn. about ( 17 year prior to returning to Henderson County. he was a Mason, a member of a painters union in Memphis, Tenn., a retired painting contractor, and a Baptist. Survivors include one brother. Firman Harris of Athens; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hawkins of Athens, Mrs. Jeanette Bethea of Dallas and Mrs. Alma Honor Conway of Lufkin. Pallbearers will be Clifford Shaver, Joe W. Harris, Eddie Smith, Alton Gary, Bob Hawking and Carl Harris.
