Louise Hattie Straten Principal Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997 Birth 14 July 1930 McLennan, Texas, United States Parents Anton Straten, Louise Sehorn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Louise Hattie (Straten) Podsednik, age 93, of Tours, passed away early Sunday morning, December 3, 2023 at West Rest Haven in West. A Rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Louise will lie-in-state from 1:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Louise was born July 14, 1930 in Tours, the daughter of Anton and Louise (Schorn) Straten. She attended school in Tours and was a graduate of West High School. On October 17, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert Podsednik in Tours. Robert preceded her in death on January 28, 2017. Louise was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Catholic Life Association and St. Elizabeth Altar Society. Louise loved being a homemaker, raising her children and working outside the home when needed. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, fishing, dancing, and listening to Czech music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louise is also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Evelyn Gerik, Willie Mae Mears, Mary Ann Kubacak, and Irene Glomb. Survivors include her children, Jackie Burroughs and husband Roy of Shreveport, LA, Steven Podsednik and wife Diane of Hico, and Pam Dudik and husband Bill of Dallas; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Chris Burroughs, Kyle Burroughs, Jason Podsednik, Bo Brooks, Randy Baker, and Justin Barham. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Glomb and David Glomb.
