Hlozek Services Are Wednesday At Church in Blessing Funeral services for Frank Hlozek, Jr., 51, who was shot fatally accidentally Monday morning about 8 a. m. near his home, will be held at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church at Blessing, with Father Bily of Blessing to officiate. Interment will be at Blessing Cemetery. A Rosary was said at 8 p. m. Monday for the family and another Rosary will be said at 8 p. m. Tuesday for the public. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Elizabeth Hlozek; his father, Frank Hlozek, Sr. of Blessing; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Craig of Victoria; Mrs. Marie Morris of Blessing; two brothers, Edward M. Hlozek and Jerry S. Hlozek of Blessing. Daily Tribune , October 8, 1957 Blessing Man Killed In Accident Monday Funeral services for Frank Hlozek, Jr., 51, who was shot fatally accidentally Monday morning about 8 a. m. near his home, will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church at Blessing, with Father Bily of Blessing to officiate. Interment will be at Blessing Cemetery. Mr. Hlozek, a well-known citizen of Matagorda County, was crawling through a wire fence about 8 a. m. Monday when the automatic shotgun he was carrying accidentally discharged, striking him in the left side. He was rushed in a pick up truck towards the hospital by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Marie Hlozek and a neighbor. The truck had motor trouble and he was later transferred to a Taylor Brothers ambulance, but was dead on arrival at the hospital. Justice of the Peace D. B. Hinton returned a verdict of accidental death. A Rosary will be said at 8 p. m. Monday for the family and another Rosary will be said at 8 p. m. Tuesday for the public.
