Funeral Services Held Tuesday, Sept. 7 For Mrs. Frank Hlozek, Sr. Frances Marie Hlozek Mrs. Frank Hlozek, Sr., a resident of the Blessing community for over 24 years, passed away in the Nightingale Hospital in El Campo Tuesday, September 7, 1954. She was born in Czechoslovakia on January 27, 1888 and came to the United States at the age of four with her parents and settled on a farm in Cistern, Texas. In 1905, she married Frank Hlozek in Praha, Texas and the couple settled on a farm in Cistern. In 1918, the family moved to the Rosenberg community where they farmed until 1930 when they moved to Blessing. After farming in this community, they retired to live in Blessing where she lived till the time of her death. Funeral services were held from the Triska Funeral Chapel in El Campo, Wednesday, September 8 at 8 a. m. Requiem High Mass was sung in St. Peter's Catholic church in Blessing at 9 a. m. with Rev. Vaclav Bily officiating. Interment was made in the Blessing Catholic Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, two daughters Mrs. Mary Morris, Blessing; Mrs. Ella Craig, Victoria; three sons, Jerry, Edward, and Frank Jr., Blessing; one brother, Tom Bradecka, Bay City and six grandchildren.
