The Belleville Telescope, Dec. 5, 1946 Mrs. Mary Marsicek, daughter of Frank and Johanna Chopp was born in Vratkov, Province of Tabor Czechoslovakia on December 6, 1866. In 1874, with her parents, she came to America. Coming to Waterville, Kan., then to Prairie Home Post office settling on a farm six miles north and one and one-half miles west of Cuba. On November 22, 1883 she was united in marriage to John Marsicek. To this union were born twelve children, three of whom preceded her in death. After their marriage they established their home on a farm south of Narka where she lived until her death. Her husband preceded her in death on May 9, 1934. After being bedfast the past year and a half she passed away on November 22, 1946 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 16 days. Those who survive are her nine children, six daughters, Mrs. Agnes Shorney, Mrs. Frances Shulda, Mrs. Mary Shulda, Mrs. Blanche Bartel, Mrs. Laura Lesovsky, Mrs. Viola Brabec, three sons, Henry, Charles and Joseph. Also ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home, conducted by Joseph Krhounek. Burial was in the Tabor Cemetery.
