(KS) Belleville Telescope Nov. 4, 1943 Peter Lallak was born June 26, 1860, in Bohemia, and died at his home north of Haddam on October 16, 1943, at the age of 83 years, four months and 10 days. His death came suddenly, after he apparently had recovered from a recent illness. Mr. Lallak came to America when he was 14 and settled at Belleville, where he lived for several years. He was united in marriage on August 13, 1887, to Miss Mary Wisner, who also came from Bohemia. They made their first home south of Narka where they lived until 1905, when they moved to Washington county which has since been their home. Seven children were born to this union, all of whom survive him except one daughter, Mrs. Mary Green. Surviving children are John of Haddam, Stanley of Mahaska, Mrs. Tony Strumfa of Narka, Thomas of Haddam, Mrs. Jim Green of Fairbury, and Ernest of the home. His wife and many other relatives and friends also survive him. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Haddam church by the Rev. J. P. Snare. Interment was made in the Blocker cemetery.
