Bio

Carol M. Grann, 84, of Carpenter, SD died Friday afternoon, November 30, 2007 in a Huron Nursing Home. Carol Maxine Grann was born February 21, 1923 on a farm near Doland to Henry and Florence (Hanna) Board. She graduated from Doland High School in 1941. She attended country school near Carpenter. Carol was united in marriage to Richard Grann May 22, 1949. The couple made their home on Richard's family farm north of Carpenter. She was a hard worker for the Methodist Church in Carpenter where she held a variety of offices. Carol and Dick sang in the church choir, and at many funerals. She worked at several jobs including the Bryant Nursing Home where she made many friends. She was a wonderful mother and wife – always ready to help and cared so much about her family. She leaves a husband who was the luckiest man alive who shared 58 years of married life with her. Carol entered the Huron Nursing Home on July 26, 2002. From that time until the time of her death, Carol has made many new friends; all of whom she considered as part of her extended family. The family like to acknowledge with grateful appreciation all of the staff at the Huron Nursing Home who have been an important part of her life. Carol will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Richard; three children; Mike (Kathie) Grann, Wallace, SD; Rick (Julie) Grann, Fort Collins, CO; Jeff (Crystal) Grann, Carpenter, SD; two sisters, Ethel Green, Sioux Falls, SD; Ruby Vetos, Kemmerer, WY; a brother-in-law, Cliff (Eileen) Grann, Seattle, WA; a sister-in-law, Annie Grann, Cheyenne, WY; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy) Grann, Colman, SD; Jon (Andrea) Grann, Sioux Falls, SD Christopher Grann, Minneapolis, MN; Teresa (Jeff) Wahlert, Sioux Falls, SD; Jessica (Brent) Kramer, Sioux Falls, SD; four great grandchildren; Devon Wahlert; Alivia Grann, Dawson Wahlert, and Nevaeh Grann.
