Obituary: Huronite and Daily Plainsman (Huron, South Dakota) 25 Dec 1955 Henry Board, 77, Of Doland Dies Doland - Henry Board, 77, Doland, died in the Huron Hospital at 1:35 a.m. Saturday. He had been in the hospital since Dec. 1. The body is at the Nash Funeral Home, Clark. Obituary: Huronite and Daily Plainsman (Huron, South Dakota) 25 Dec 1955 Henry Board Rites To Be Tuesday (This replaces earlier story printed elsewhere in this newspaper) Doland - Henry Board, 77, of Doland and pioneer of Carpenter-Doland vicinity, died Saturday in St. John's Hospital in Huron. He was born Nov. 24, 1878 in Ontario, Canada, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Board. He married Dec. 1, 1901 at Raymond to Florence G. Hanna. Surviving are two sons, Arthur of Bargersville, Ind., and Jean Board of Carpenter, Mrs. Emily Baggesgard, Doland; Mrs. Goldie Wicks, Mrs. Clara Wicks, Mrs. Ruth Hoffman, Mrs. Carol Gann, all of Carpenter; Mrs. Ethel Green, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Ruby Vetos, Beresford; 36 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Board, Pine River, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Emily Elliot, San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1947; his parents, two brothers, one sister. Board moved from Canada to Beadle County, S.D. when a boy and attended country schools in Carpenter vicinity. He farmed there until 1930 where he moved into Doland where he resided at the time of his death. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Methodist Church in Doland and the Rev. Donald Hansen will be in charge. Burial will be in the Doland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be six grandsons of the deceased and honorary pallbearers will be Al Paine, Arthur Wells, Henry Thompson, Frank Thompson, Ernest Fountain, Elmer Gann. The body will be at the Nash Funeral Home until time of services.
