Fort Bend Herald, May 23, 2021: Mary Ann Vacek, 100, of Orchard, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Mary was born to Gus and Annie Kreitz of Needville, Texas on August 8, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Vacek, and 2 brothers, Henry and Walter Kreitz. She is survived by her 3 children, son, Larry Vacek and wife, Kathy, daughter Betty Vacek and husband, Richard, and son, Kenneth Vacek and wife, Rose. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Theresa Vacek James, Ann Vacek Valerian, Matthew Vacek, Rachel Vacek Lamoureux, Kristen Vacek Fitzgerald, Brian Vacek, and Stacie Vacek Gutierrez; and 10 great-grandchildren, Vinton Lee James V, Tarah James Lawrence, Valerie, Thomas, and Travis Valerian, Mia Fitzgerald, Tristan, and Taylor Vacek, and David and Savannah Gutierrez; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are as follows: viewing and visitation at Knesek Funeral Home, 122 N. First Street in Wallis Texas on Monday, May 24, at 6:00-7:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 25, at 10:00 am at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Texas, located at 5610 Demel Street, followed by interment at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas.
