Bio

Fort Bend Herald, March 4, 2014: Funeral services for Walter E. Kreitz, 96, of Needville, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pastor Claude Villemaire will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Walter was born on January 2, 1918 in Needville. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. Walter was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. When he was able, Walter enjoyed gardening and took pride in taking care of his cows. He passed away on March 3, 2014 at his home in Needville. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Gus Kreitz and Annie Nawara Kreitz, and his son, Ray Gene Kreitz. He is lovingly survived by his wife of 64 years, Nelda Kreitz; daughters, Janis Weisheit, Joyce Kramer and husband, Allen, and Linda Kreitz; siblings, Henry Kreitz and Mary Vacek; grandchildren whom called him "PaPa", Kendall Weisheit, Jared Waldrep, and Ashley Kramer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. For those wishing, memorials may be left in Walter's name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1208 Fifth Street, Rosenberg, Texas, 77471.
