Bio

Herald Coaster, August 16, 1962: Funeral services for Gus Kreitz, 77, of Needville, were held Saturday, August 11, at 2 p.m. from the Garmany and Company Chapel in Needville. Rev. Townes Windham officiated. Mr. Kreitz passed away at 11:55 p.m. Thursday in the Fort Bend Nursing Home. He was born in Germany, came to the United States at the age of six, and settled in the San Antonio area. He came to Fort Bend County in 1905 and retired in 1947. He was a member of the Sons of Hermann Lodge. Survivors are two sons, Henry Kreitz of Wallis and Walter Kreitz of Needville; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Vacek of Wallis; and nine grandchildren. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery under the direction of Garmany and Company Funeral Directors of Needville.
