Bio

Fort Bend Herald, September 4, 2015: Henry Herman Kreitz, 99, was born on July 12, 1916 in Needville, Texas and passed away on September 2, 2015 in Sugar Land, Texas. Henry graduated from Richmond High School in 1935 and in 1940 married Lorine Juengerman. They moved to a farm near Wallis, Texas. That same year he began a career in farming which lasted over 40 yrs. His farm was known for its weed free fields and straight rows. In 1945 he and his family joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wallis where he remained a faithful member until his death. He served as an Elder and Treasurer of the church for many years and he and his wife also maintained the church property. Besides farming, Henry was active in his community by serving on the local School Board for 12years and Board of Directors for The Wallis State Bank for 19 years. He was also big supporter of the sports and other activities his three sons participated in at school. In his later years he and his wife enjoyed traveling. They made trips to Hawaii, Canada, the Rocky Mountains, the Great Lakes, New York, Boston, and Las Vegas. Of course there were also many trips to the casinos in Louisiana. Henry was a devoted family man who was very proud of his family members and their many accomplishments. Henry is survived by his three sons, Roy Wayne and wife Claudia, Don Ray and wife Patty, Glen Earl and wife Denise, five grandchildren, Allison Carl (Ryan), Mark Kreitz (Gilly Ross), Courtney Calvert (Wade), Kevin Kreitz and Nathan Kreitz and five great grandchildren, Paige, Jack Henry, and Luke Carl and Lainey and Charley Kate Calvert and sister, Mary Vacek. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lorine and brother, Walter Kreitz. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM, Friday, September 4, 2015 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Wallis, Texas. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, September 5, 2015.at St. Paul Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wallis St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
