Elaine loved Cooking, Singing, Dancing... Family and Life. She was very down to earth with a Beautiful spirit and Smile. You will be missed Gorgeous Soul. ∼ Elaine Redd, 53, of Oquawka, passed away at 9:13 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2001, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born September 9, 1947, in Monmouth, the daughter of Ralph Marion and Margaret Helen (Tarr) Farrington. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended Monmouth public schools and Monmouth High School. Elaine loved all kinds of music her whole life and followed the careers of some of her favorite artists with avid interest. She appreciated hand made crafts, in particular hand-made bird houses. Most of her life she was an at-home mother, but she had been employed at Western Stoneware and the Review Atlas/Penny Saver. Survivors include two daughters, Misti Brannon and her husband, Richard, and Angie Franklin, both of Monmouth; two sons, Demetrious Redd and his wife, Lisa, and Tobi Franklin, both of Monmouth; one brother, Richard Farrington of Fort Myers, Florida; one sister, Connie Ferrington of Monmouth; a long time companion, Robert Stotler of Oquawka; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a daughter, Lisa Rose Howell. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, with Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. Memorials may be left to the Cancer Fund.
