Bio

Celestine (Celeste) M Zander passed away in her home. She was born on December 5, 1941 in Brainard, Nebraska. Her Parents were, Frances (Patocka) and Anton Jindra. She had five older sisters, five younger sisters and one younger brother. Celeste grew up, and attended High School in David City, NE. She lived in Rapid City, SD since 1960. Celeste married Dean Zander on August 30, 1980. Celeste and Dean had no children. Celeste enjoyed walking daily, gardening, country music, reading, cooking. She also enjoyed watching western movies, especially John Wayne Movies. Celeste worked for SCI for 23 years as a “Board Tester” where she met her dearest friend Deloris Fuhrmann. Celeste attended St. Therese Church and had a strong faith in Christ. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a cat lover for sure. After losing her cat Suzie, Celeste continued feeding neighborhood cats every day. Celeste had a big heart and was a very loving and giving woman. Celeste was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, Dean, and three sisters. She has left behind: her sisters, Along with many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Celeste will be dearly missed and always remembered. She is now at rest and reunited with her loving husband, Dean. A Memorial Service for Celeste will be held on March 3, 2021 at 1:00 at Kirk Funeral Home She will be buried at the Black Hills National Cemetery immediately following the service.
