Bio
Martha Barbara Upfold, 62, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at a local medical center. Services will be 2 pm Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 – 2pm Tuesday preceding the service. Martha was born to Frances M. {Patocka} and Anton Jindra on January 12, 1943 in Brainard, Nebraska. She married Raymond Upfold. Martha traveled extensively with her husband who was in the Air Force. They moved to Abilene in 1973. She loved people and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Martha was a homemaker and really enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marcella. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Upfold, of Abilene; two sons, Darren Upfold and Alan Upfold, both of Abilene; two daughters, Barbara Jean Conkhite of Topeka, Kansas and Barbara Ann Williams of Abilene; one brother, Anton; ten sisters, Rita, Antoinette, Alice, Ann, Rosemarie, Celestine, Lucille, Adeline, Frances, and Patricia; and five grandchildren.
