Antoinette "Toni" Znamenacek 89, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born to Anton and Frances Jindra. Her life revolved around her husband, family, friends and their 8 precious dogs over the years. Toni grew up around the David City area. She graduated from Marietta High School. She moved to Lincoln at age 18. Worked for Lincoln General Hospital/Bryan West Hospital for 55 years, where she met her husband, Merlyn (Zim) Znamenacek of 43yrs. Toni and Merlyn contributed many hours of community service through Sunrise Kiwanis. Toni loved making Easter Bunny cakes for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful roses and loving on her puppies. Toni is survived by 5 stepchildren: Sherry Elsner of Crete. Dan Znamenacek, of Lincoln, Greg and wife Karen Znamenacek, of Lincoln, Deb and husband Joe Roberts of Papillion and Linda Vogel of South Bend; 14 step grandchildren, 22 step great grandchildren; 6 step great great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Alice Prahm of Brainerd, MN, Ann Martindale of Hiawatha, KS, Lucille Flynn of Willmar, MN, Tony Jindra and wife Rita of Fremont, NE, Frances Tully and husband Jack of Henderson, TX, Patty Jindra of Schuyler, NE and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Merlyn (Zim), parents Anton and Frances Jindra, sisters Rita Becht, Rose Marie Runquist, Sally Zander, Martha Upfold, Adeline Jindra, and step great grandson John R Horne. Memorial Services will be a Graveside ceremony performed by her step grandson Tim S. Elsner of Wichita, KS at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Bohemian National Cemetery (Big Blue), Wilber, NE.
