Delma Ruth (Goates) Usrey - Obituary Thursday, August 9th, 1923 - Thursday, February 11th, 2021 Delma Ruth Usrey, 97, died peacefully at home in Hillsboro, Texas February 11, 2021. She was born August 9, 1923 to William Riley and Mollie Goates in Aquilla, Texas. Delma attended West High School in West, Texas. She married James Usrey on March 15, 1941 who preceded her in death. An avid gardener, Delma was particularly fond of irises. She volunteered at Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries as well as Paw Pals, where she made many dog pallets. A member of United Church of God, Delma loved church, people, family reunions and gardening. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn and son Lewis. Delma is survived by sons, James Usrey, Jr. and wife Kathy and Lance Usrey and wife Susan; daughters, Sharon Timms and husband Lloyd, Delma Perkins and husband Mark; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous family members in the Central Texas area. Many thanks from the family to caregivers Marilyn and Community Hospice workers. Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 301 W. Elm, Hillsboro, Texas followed by burial at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, Hillsboro, Texas at 2:00 pm. Cornerstone Funeral Home, 301 W. Elm, Hillsboro, Texas
