MARY ANN'S OBITUARY Mary Ann Mans, age 82 of rural North Mankato died peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the New Perspective Senior Living Community in Mankato. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am on Friday, March 22, 2019 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with Father Todd Petersen celebrating the Mass. Burial will take place at a later date in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Belgrade Township. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday, and continue from 9-10:30 am on Friday at the church in Nicollet. To leave an online condolence for her family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: mvfh.org Mary Ann is survived by her children: Charles (Kelly) Mans of North Mankato, Stephen (Bridget) Mans of Lakeland, TN, Diane (Kent) Schmitz of St. Joseph, MN, and David (Terese) Mans of Bemidji; her 16 grandchildren; her siblings: Bernard (Mary Clare) Goblirsch, William Goblirsch, Rosie (Joe) Peurrung, John (Karen) Goblirsch, Robert (Lorine) Goblirsch, Agnes (Delbert) Hertling; and her brothers-in-law Lloyd Mans and Ronald Mans; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband in 2014, her parents, her twin sister Theresa, her sisters Donna, infant Margaret and another infant sister; and one grandchild, Carter Mans. Mary Ann Mans was born October 1, 1936 at the family home in Lucan, MN to Joseph and Rose (Frank) Goblirsch. She attended St. Anne's Catholic School in Wabasso, graduating in 1955. She then attended Mankato Commercial College and graduated with a degree in bookkeeping and shorthand. After graduation, she worked at Southern Minnesota Supply. Mary Ann married Gerald Mans on June 4, 1959 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. They made their home on the family farm in rural North Mankato. They were blessed with four children. Mary Ann was a homemaker who always had a large garden and she canned and froze endless amounts of vegetables over the years. She was an awesome cook! She was such a kind, caring, selfless, humble and hardworking woman. Mary Ann moved to Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter in early 2014 following a hemorrhagic stroke and to New Perspective in Mankato in 2018 after her care needs changed again. Her family is very thankful for all of her caregivers throughout these years. Mary Ann was a member of the Church of St. Paul in Nicollet. She also held a position cleaning the church rectory for many years. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Paul's Catholic Church, St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, or Mayo Hospice.
