Bio
Agnes (Srnensky) Eschberger, 91, of Elgin, Texas, died Aug. 14, 2024. She was born Oct. 16, 1932, in Beyersville, Texas, to Joseph and Rosie (Simcik) Srnensky. She was one of 10 children who all worked hard on the family farm. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1950. A few months later, she married Jack Eschberger on Oct. 29, 1950. To this union were born four children: a daughter, Susan, and three sons, Randy, Daryl and Philip. She retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety after 27 years of service. She loved polka music, dancing, sewing her own clothes, growing flowers and working in her vegetable garden. In addition to her four children, survivors include 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Albina Kerlin and Martha Minzenmayer; brother-in-law, Bill Griffin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; sisters Bertha Christianson, Elsie Mucha, Lillie Martinets, Angeline Hobbs and Jean Ann Griffin; brothers Edmond Srnensky and Joe Srnensky; and grandson Russell Eschberger. A visitation is 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Condra Funeral Home, 503 Talbot St. in Taylor, Texas, followed by 11 a.m. services. Burial is at Taylor City Cemetery.
