REST IN PEACE.. Burial will be in Holland City Cemetery. Mrs. Martinets died Sunday, July 19, in a Pflugerville nursing center. She was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Beyersville to Joseph F. and Rosie Simcik Srnensky. She was baptized and confirmed at Taylor Czech-Moravian Brethren Church and attended Beyersville School. As a young woman she worked in the Taylor High School cafeteria, the Taylor Pecan Factory, and Taylor Bedding & Manufacturing Company. She married Clifton M. Martinets March 11, 1944, in Granger and he preceded her in death in 1981. They farmed for several years, first at Hackberry near Holland and later near Schwertner. In 1959, the family moved to Holland, where they operated Clifton's Place. She was a homemaker and also worked for many years as a cook at the Holland school cafeteria. She was a longtime member of Holland Brethren Church and SPJST Lodge No. 80 in Holland. Survivors include a son, Allen Martinets of Austin; a daughter, Karen Mills of Austin; two brothers, Joe B. Srnensky of Beyersville and Edmond Srnensky of Austin; six sisters, Bertha Christianson, Elsie Mucha and Albina Kerlin, all of Taylor, Agnes Eschberger of Coupland, Martha Minzenmayer of Temple and Jane Griffin of Salado; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Holland Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
