Bio
Albina was born in Beyersville, Texas, on March 29, 1928, to the late Joe and Rosalie Simcik Srnensky. She married Martin Kerlin on December 29, 1949; they were married for nearly 64 years until his passing in 2013. Prior to getting married, she worked on the family farm, and she later worked at the pecan factory in Taylor. After marriage, she was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Albina led a life of servitude to the Lord, to her family, and her home. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing, quilting, dancing, polka music, caring for vegetable gardens, flowers, and her yard. She became known for her sewing skills and made dozens of wedding, bridesmaid, and special occasion dresses. For many years, she was actively involved in the Taylor Brethren Church as a Sunday school teacher, and Christian Sister. In the over nine decades of her life, she picked hundreds of sacks of cotton, baked thousands of kolaches, cracked and shelled millions of pecans. Albina is survived by her grandchildren, Keith and Jessica Kerlin, Kara Kerlin, and Sean Mack; sister, Martha Minzenmeyer; brother-in-law, Bill Griffin; great-grandchildren, Kase and Joey; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Albina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Kerlin; son, Michael Kerlin; brothers, Joe Srnensky and Edmund Srnensky; sisters, Bertha Christianson, Elsie Mucha, Lillie Martinets, Angeline Hobbs, Agnes Eschberger, and Jane Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Ken Hobbs, Dennis Hobbs, Kerry Minzenmeyer, Bruce Minzenmeyer, Jimmy Griffin, and Randy Eschberger. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you consider making a memorial donation in Albina's honor to your church.
