Edgar was the 15th child, and father of 3: Eunice Genevieve Averill Brabec Helen DeLoris Broz Lewis Allen Averill Edgar was in the CCC and WPA, where he learned to be an expert dragline operator. He worked on the construction of the ammunition deport at Hastings, Nebraska, a bridge across the North Platte River between Scottsbluff and Gering and various other dam and bridge projects in Nebraska and Kansas. He was a WWII veteran, a member of American Legion posts at Edgar, Harvard and Denton. He went all over the state of Nebraska with a replica of the Liberty Bell in 1976. He ran unsuccessfully for Nebraska Commander in June 1977. In October 1977 he was diagnosed with stomach cancer that took his life. He really liked to go fishing, any river, reservoir, would do. He had 2 ex-wives, Helen, the mother of his 3 children, Lydia Fisher to whom he was married about 6 months, and he was lastly married to Fay Denham for 15 years. Contributed by R.
