Fort Bend Herald, June 10, 2020: Funeral services for Viola Katherine Tielke Fuchs will be 11 AM Friday, June 12, 2020, at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX, with burial following in the Immanuel Evangelical Church Cemetery, Needville, TX. Visitation will be 10 - 11 AM Friday at the church for one hour preceding the funeral service. Viola Katherine Tielke Fuchs gained her wings Monday morning, June 8, 2020, at the age of 97. She was born August 27, 1922 in Guy, Texas to Willie and Minnie Tielke. She was a life-long member of Immanuel Evangelical Church, baptized there and confirmed into the church on March 21, 1937. She remained a devoted member and served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Ladies Guild for many years. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the SPJST Senior Living and Rehab Facility in Needville, Texas. Viola married Clarence Fuchs on November 4, 1944, and together they began their farming operation. Mom put in many hours raising a family, working the fields with Dad and raising their three children. They made sure their children were involved in school activities such as band, 4-H, FFA, sports, and fully involved in learning how to accomplish chores on the farm. Mom always had a big garden, canned vegetables and fruit, and sewed clothes for us to wear. She was also fully involved with our education, making sure we studied. She served as a room mother in our elementary school years. Later, when we were older, she decided to get a job as a nurse's aide to help supplement the family income. It had always been a dream of hers to become a nurse, but that could not be accomplished with all the responsibilities of child rearing and farm chores. She got certified as a CNA and worked many years at the nursing home on Bamore Road in Rosenberg. Mom is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fuchs, who passed away January 19, 2018; her parents, Willie and Minnie Tielke; brothers, Leroy, Raymond, and Melvin Tielke; sisters-in-law, Alice, Eleanor, and Willie Mae Tielke; sisters, Loney Tielke and Ora Lee Lamensky; and brothers-in-law, Clarence Lamensky, Frank Macik, Donald Janacek, Kirby Fuchs, and Wilburn Fuchs. She is survived by her children, Donald Fuchs (JoAnn), Rosemary Klahn (Mike), and Bobby Fuchs (Vicki); grandchildren, Deana Fuchs, James Fuchs, Carrie Shirley, Ashlea Cedrone, Lauren Polasek, Bryan Fuchs, Patrick Fuchs, Staci Wilson; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Caroline Macik, Marjorie Janacek; sisters-in -law, Darlene Mensik and Cecilia Fuchs. Serving as pallbearers will be James Fuchs, Bryan Fuchs, Patrick Fuchs, Dave Cedrone, Alan Polasek, and Trey Wilson. A special thanks to the staff at the SPJST home who cared for not only our Mom for the past three years, but also our Dad for two years prior to that. You have provided outstanding care for them and the family extends our deepest thanks to you for your dedicated service and care. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 505/Needville, TX 77461, or a charity of your choice. Condolence messages may be written for the family at www.garmanycarden.com.
