Fort Bend Herald, January 22, 2018: Funeral services for Clarence F. Fuchs, 95, of Needville, TX, are set for 2:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018, at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461, with Rev. Joe Kost officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Evangelical Church Cemetery, Needville, TX 77461. Visitation will be 1 to 2:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018, at the church, for one hour preceding the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be James Fuchs, Bryan Fuchs, Patrick Fuchs, Tom Shirley, Dave Cedrone, and Allen Polasek. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Poehls, Shawn Etzler, Kevon Fuchs, Dylan Fuchs, Russell Fuchs, and his granddaughters. Clarence was born October 12, 1922 in Round Top, Texas. He passed away Friday, January 19, 2018, in Needville, TX, with his wife, Viola, by his side. He was a resident of the SPJST Nursing Home for the past 3 years and could be seen sitting outside in his beloved sun every day. Clarence was the oldest son of Fritz Fuchs and Flora Weidemann Fuchs. The family moved from Round Top to Needville when Clarence was 12, and they begain farming in this area. Clarence began his farming career behind horses and mules, and he ended it driving a 200 horsepower air-conditioned cab tractor. In 1944, Clarence married the love of his life, Viola Tielke. Together they established their own farming operation and raised three children. Clarence kept his children involved in 4H and FFA and instilled a strong work ethic in them. All had duties to perform each day. Clarence served the community as well by being a Needville School Board member, a member of the Youth Fair Board, and was named an Honorary Life Member of the Needville FFA. Clarence is survived by his wife of 73 years, Viola; and children, Donald Fuchs and wife JoAnn, Rosemary Klahn and husband, Mike, Bobby Fuchs and wife, Vicki; grandchildren, Deana Fuchs, James Fuchs, Carrie Shirley, Ashlea Cedrone, Lauren Polasek, Bryan Fuchs, Patrick Fuchs, and Staci Fuchs; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Kirby and Wilburn Fuchs.
