Bio
Robert G. Jezek, 70, died Sunday (March 31, 2002) at his home in McCook after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 2, 1931, at Tobias to Alois and Ollie (Cummings) Jezek. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1949. On Jan. 31, 1978, he married Marilynn C. Callen. They made their home in McCook where he was manager in grocery retail for many years. They moved to Omaha and returned to McCook in 1996. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Jon Jezek; one daughter, Mary Walling; and one sister, Betty Barnett. Survivors include his wife, Marilynn of McCook; one son, Vince Baldwin of Omaha; daughter, Deb Houghtelling and husband, Dave, of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later time. Visitation will be until 8 p.m today. Memorials may be given in his name. Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. McCook Gazette - Tuesday, April 2, 2002
