BARNETT, BETTY MAE—Betty Mae Barnett was born to Aloise (Lew) Jezek and Ollie Cummings Jezek on January 6, 1929, at Milligan, and passed away on February 10, 1981, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 52. She was one of two children in the family. Her family moved to Geneva and she graduated from the Geneva high school in 1947. She worked at the Geneva telephone office from graduation until her marriage. She and her husband then owned and operated Geneva Photo Company, later known as Barnett’s Studio. Betty was married to Ronald Keith Barnett of Geneva on August 16, 1953, and to them two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Diane; her father (Aloise) and her parents-in-law, William and Belle Barnett. She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Geneva; a daughter, Nancy Ann (Mrs. Robert Riley of Seward); her mother, Mrs. Leland (Ollie) Krug of Strang; and a brother, Bob Jezek of Omaha. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She found great happiness in working around the house and yard with Ron. She was a faithful member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as treasurer for many years. As well as a wife and mother, she was a friend to her husband and daughter and to the many people whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
