Bio

MaryAnn Westwood, 75, of Grand Island passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Service and celebration of MaryAnn's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend Scott Jones will officiate. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. MaryAnn was born June 16, 1943 in Grand Island, the daughter of Frank and Angela (Goodwin) Stauss. She grew up and attended school in Grand Island. MaryAnn married Rodney Jewell, the father of her children, in 1964. She later married Terry Westwood in 1983. For 34 years MaryAnn was employed by the Grand Generation Center driving the Hall County Handy Bus. Those that rode the bus were "her people", she was there to help them in whatever way she could. Christmas trees were her "thing". All year around…Easter trees, Thanksgiving trees, etc. To MaryAnn they represented gathering her family together. MaryAnn adored her family; her grandchildren meant the world to her. If she knew you, you became family. She was Mom or Grandma to so many. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tony Jewell (Kim Janecek) of Grand Island, Sally Jo Holder of Grand Island and Tracy (Cory) Jewell of Chapman; stepchildren, Richard Westwood (Charity Berding), Kim Rapolla and Jeffrey Westwood, all of Grand Island; grandchildren, Alisha Jewell and her children, Julian, Alianna and Johan, Brandon Jewell (Shanda Andrews) and their children, Jett, Jaxx, Xander and Braylyn, Ashley Jewell (Chad Armstrong), Nicholas Jewell, Emma Lambertus, Chris Robinson, Cody Robinson, Mariah Robinson, Daniel Welsh, Mikaela Janecek and Elizabeth Janecek; step-grandchildren, Clint, Rich, Samantha, Garrett, Gavin, Cassie, Peyton and Nicole; brother, Wilber Stauss of Grand Island and sister, JoAnn Vodehnal of Kearney. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dwayne and James; and sisters, Dorothy, Frances and Geraldine. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
