Maggie was the daughter of Jacob Talton Lewis and Barbara Caroline Pegram Lewis and the wife of Emory Dow Dulin* whom she married 5 April 1885 in Eastland County. Their children were Martin Luther, Mary Caroline (Ferrell)*, Bennie Emory, Elma Charlotte (Wood), Lewis Alexander**, Hester Dulin (Butler), Frances Nancy (Butler), Willie Louise (Parish), and Albert Carroll. * Buried at Eastland City Cemetery ** Buried at Arlington National Cemetery, VA ______________________________________________________________________________________ EASTLAND COUNTY PIONEER BURIED HERE TUESDAY MRS. MAGGIE DULIN (1869-1941) Funeral Services for Mrs. Maggie Dulin, 72, were conducted from the First Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Lance Webb, pastor of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. J.B. Blunk of the First Christian church, were in charge. Burial was in the Eastland cemetery with Hamner Undertaking company in charge. Mrs. Dulin was an Eastland pioneer, having come to the county with her parents at the age of fourteen. She was a member of the Thirty and Fifty pioneer clubs, a Gold Star mother and a charter member of the Susan Steele Bible Class of the First Methodist church Sunday School. She had been an active member of the Methodist church for 56 years. Maggie Lewis was born March 14, 1869, in Winston Salem, Howard County, North Carolina, coming to Eastland at the age of fourteen. She was married to Emory Dow Dulin on April 5, 1885. Nine children were born of this union, eight of them still living. A son, Lewis Dulin, was killed in action in France during the World War. The Dulin-Daniels Post of the American Legion of Eastland was named in his honor. Mr. and Mrs. Dulin moved to a farm four miles north of Eastland at the time of their marriage. All of the children were born there, and most of them married at the home, and the place is still owned by the family. Mr. Dulin died on July 5,1930. Children surviving are Mart Dulin, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Henry Ferrell, Eastland; Mrs. Buster McGough, Amarillo; Mrs. Will Wood, Abilene; Mrs. John Butler, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. John McKinney, Cisco; Mrs. J.J. Parish, Cisco; Albert Dulin, Crane, Texas. Two brothers surviving are Newt Lewis, Cisco, and John Lewis, Newcastle, Texas.
